Terms and conditions
Effective October 15, 2026.
In short: Learn Poker is an educational service for people aged 18 and over. There is no real-money play and there are no cash prizes. The account is optional. Premium is a subscription that renews automatically until you cancel it; on the web it is sold by Paddle, our merchant of record. Respect others in the League and do not cheat.
1. Who we are and acceptance
Learn Poker (the Android app, the web app at app.learn-poker.app and this website) is offered by Fernando Marcelo Parodi, an independent developer based in La Plata, Argentina, who publishes on Google Play as "BlackShine" ("we" in these terms). By using Learn Poker you accept these terms and the privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. What Learn Poker is
Learn Poker is an educational tool to learn poker through exercises, lessons and challenges. Its content is informational and for training: it is not financial advice and does not guarantee results in real games. Decisions you make outside the app, including playing for real money where legal, are your responsibility.
No real money. In Learn Poker you cannot bet real money, buy chips or credits to bet, or win cash or goods prizes. XP, divisions, badges and energy have no monetary value and cannot be sold, transferred or exchanged for money.
3. Minimum age
You must be at least 18 years old to use Learn Poker. If we learn that a minor is using the service, we may close their account and delete their data.
4. Use without an account and accounts
You can use Learn Poker without an account; in that case your progress stays on your device and you are responsible for keeping it. The account is optional and is needed to sync your progress, take part in the League, buy Premium and redeem codes.
- You sign in with Google or with a link or code we email you. Protect access to your email: whoever controls it can sign in to your account.
- One account per person. Do not share, sell or transfer your account.
- You can delete your account at any time, as explained on Delete account. Deleting it does not cancel a paid subscription (see section 6).
5. The League
The League is a weekly competition among groups of up to 30 people identified by an alias. Scores are calculated by our server from your answers. At the end of each week some people move up or down a division. There are no cash or goods prizes: only promotions and badges inside the app. We may adjust the League rules (group size, XP caps, promotion criteria) or pause it.
Conduct. In the League you may not:
- Use an alias that is offensive, discriminatory, sexual, impersonates someone else or includes personal data or advertising.
- Cheat: use programs, scripts or automation to answer, tamper with the app or the requests it sends, use multiple accounts, exploit bugs in the service or obtain XP in any other way than by playing legitimately.
If we detect this conduct (automatically or through reports) we may change your alias, void XP, exclude you from the League temporarily or permanently and, in serious or repeated cases, suspend or close your account. If you think we got it wrong, write to us and a person will review it.
6. Premium and subscriptions
What it includes. Premium adds benefits to the free version, such as unlimited energy, the full Hand of the Day archive, unlimited mistake review and advanced statistics, as described in the app at the time of purchase. The free version remains available without Premium.
Plans and prices. There is a monthly plan and an annual plan. The price is shown in the app before you buy, in your local currency and with any taxes that apply in your country.
Automatic renewal. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period (month or year) at the same price, unless we notify you of a price change with the notice required by the store or the law, until you cancel it.
Free trial. Where offered, the annual plan includes a 7-day free trial for people who have not used a trial before. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the first year is charged.
How to cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep Premium until the end of the period already paid. You can cancel at any time:
- If you bought on Android: in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
- If you bought on the web: from the Paddle portal, using the link in your purchase confirmation email, or at paddle.net with the email you used to pay.
Uninstalling the app or deleting your account does not cancel the subscription.
Premium goes with your account. Premium is linked to your Learn Poker account, so you can use it on Android and on the web by signing in with the same account. If you bought in a store and do not see it, use "Restore purchases" in the app or write to us.
Purchases on Android. They are processed by Google Play and are also governed by the Google Play terms.
Purchases on the web. Our order process on the web is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our web orders: it processes the payment, collects taxes, issues the invoice, handles billing inquiries and handles returns. Those purchases are also governed by the Paddle buyer terms.
Refunds. See the refund policy.
7. Promo codes
We sometimes give out codes that grant Premium for a number of days. When you redeem one, these rules apply:
- They are personal and for the use of the person who receives them, unless the code says otherwise. They may not be sold or resold.
- They have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for money, other products or refunds.
- They may have an expiry date and a limited number of redemptions. Each account can redeem only one code per campaign.
- They require an account. The Premium they grant simply ends after the stated days, with no charges or renewal.
- Redeeming a code does not pause or cancel a paid subscription you already have: if you have one, it keeps renewing and being charged until you cancel it in the store.
- We may void a code, or the Premium obtained with it, if it was obtained or used fraudulently or against these rules.
8. Intellectual property and permitted use
Learn Poker content (exercises, texts, design, code and brand) belongs to us or is used with permission. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy or redistribute the content, extract it in bulk, reverse engineer it except where the law allows, or use the service to harass other people or disrupt its operation.
9. Availability and changes to the service
We work to keep Learn Poker running well, but we cannot guarantee it will always be available or error-free. We may add, change or remove features, including free ones, and temporarily pause the League, purchases or code redemption for security or maintenance. If we stop offering Premium, we will give you reasonable notice and your subscription will not renew.
10. Responsible gaming
Learn Poker includes tools to play in moderation, such as a time limit and breaks. If you feel gambling is affecting you, seek help from a support line in your country.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for money lost in real games, for indirect damages or for the loss of progress stored only on your device. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country, including Argentina's Consumer Protection Law 24,240, or our liability for fraud or gross negligence.
12. Suspension and termination
You can stop using Learn Poker and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that seriously breaches these terms, especially for cheating or abusive conduct in the League; if that happens, we will notify you by email unless the law or the security of the service prevents it.
13. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms we will publish the new version on this page with its effective date. If the change is significant and you have an account, we will let you know in the app or by email before it applies. If you do not agree with the new version, you can cancel your subscription and delete your account.
14. Governing law and claims
These terms are governed by the laws of the Argentine Republic. Before starting a claim, write to us: almost everything gets resolved that way. If you are a consumer, you may file a claim with the consumer protection agencies and courts where you live, and you keep the protections that the law of your country of residence does not allow you to waive.
